Meet Tuffy!

Tuffy is a bright, spirited young pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. At around 9 months old, she’s right at that fun (and sometimes silly!) stage where curiosity, intelligence, and energy all come together.

She may be a little unsure when meeting new people at first and might bark to say hello, but give her a little time and she warms up quickly. Once she feels comfortable, her confident and affectionate nature really shines through. She’s also a total cuddle bug and has no concept of personal space—if you’re on the couch, expect Tuffy to be right there with you!

Tuffy is incredibly curious about the world around her and loves exploring new environments. She’s a great car companion and enjoys going along for the ride. She’s also very comfortable with handling—things like paw checks and mouth handling are no problem for her, which makes grooming and vet visits much easier.

She already has a solid foundation in training, including basic commands and crate skills, and she’s currently eating a puppy kibble diet. She’s highly intelligent and eager to learn, though she can sometimes test boundaries, so she’ll do best with someone who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training.

With her mix of breeds, Tuffy is an active girl who needs regular exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy and balanced. She also has a strong prey drive, so her future home should be mindful when it comes to smaller animals.

Tuffy is looking for a home that can offer her stability and routine. She has experienced a lot of change in her young life, and having a consistent environment will help her continue to grow into a well-balanced adult dog. Because of her personality and needs, she would do best with an experienced dog owner.

She is currently working through some normal puppy challenges, including adjusting to change and building confidence when left alone, as she may be prone to some separation-related stress. She can also be sensitive to big, noisy household items (the vacuum and even the dreaded toilet brush!), but with patience and positive exposure, she continues to make progress.

Tuffy may have some mild allergies that her future family will want to keep an eye on. Additionally, she came into rescue with an unknown injury and had stitches in her back right leg. At this time, she’s doing great, but her long-term needs are not fully known, so her adopter should be prepared to monitor her as she grows.

Tuffy’s ideal home will be patient, committed, and ready to invest in her bright future. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate, slightly goofy companion who will keep you smiling and always close by your side.

If you’re looking for a dog you can grow with and build a strong bond with, Tuffy just might be your girl 🐾
